On Thursday, August 29th, 2013, United Way of El Paso County will transition the Volunteer Action Center to a new software called “Get Connected.” The re-designed website will launch at its existing website address, www.volunteerelpaso.org.
In an effort to increase collaboration, connections, and relationships among local non-profits and community members, United Way of El Paso County has made the switch to Get Connected. The easy-to-use database offers registered agencies new tools to enhance their existing profiles and grow their volunteer base. New tools will be available for users as well, including the ability to become a “fan” of their favorite agencies, link to social media pages, RSVP for events, and search non-profit job opportunities.
“Our Volunteer Action Center has been the leading resource for both non-profits and volunteers in our community.” Said Deborah A. Zuloaga, United Way of El Paso County CEO. “We are thrilled to be making this transition to Get Connected, which will allow our volunteer base to continue to grow.”
Since 2007, the Volunteer Action Center has connected people who are willing to share their time and talent through a free online volunteer match program with non-profit organizations in need of helping hands. Existing profiles for agencies and volunteers will be automatically transferred. Those interested in creating an account can do so starting August 29th at www.volunteerelpaso.org.
