For the past 90 years, United Way of El Paso County has thrived because of the commitment and dedication of our donors. While there are many that generously donate to United Way to help in the areas of Education, Basic Needs and Income, there are few that do so as fervently as Texas Gas Services.
This company boasts 98-99% employee participation in its campaigns and goes above-and-beyond what is expected. Thanks to the involvement of committee members Rita Gomez, Cindy Valenzuela, Rosie Torresdey, Juana Macias, Devera Early, Mayra Chavez, Lupe Arreola, Ana Montelongo, Letty Najera, Cynthia Nunez and Liz Miranda, staff held sports tournaments, fundraisers, raffles and a plethora of other in-house activities to bring in additional funds to those donated during the campaign. In 2013, the company was able to bring in over $12,000 in additional contributions with the activities held.
Not only do they diligently find ways to increase their dollar donation, they also gift their time by participating in volunteer opportunities such as adopting children for Christmas gifts and Back-to-school supplies; they are instrumental participants within the community. We would like to highlight Mica Short and thank her for her example and dedication to the cause!
The efforts of Texas Gas Services are unreal; there are events constantly underway and their dedication to each and every one of them is evident. Liz Miranda, United Way of El Paso Campaign Coordinator for Texas Gas Services believes the effect is so strong because there is a common goal, “We at Texas Gas Services embrace United Way and what they stand for, we work hard to support United Way and the community, knowing that our efforts will have a substantial effect on our city.”
Thank you Texas Gas Services, we applaud your efforts and know that it is people like you that make El Paso great!
